For the upcoming Holiday Season, Interamericano students and faculty will be opening their hearts to support some of the most hard-working individuals at our school – our maintenance, security, and transportation staff.
Our support staff’s tireless work often goes unnoticed, yet they are an integral part of making sure that Interamericano functions smoothly. As a small token of gratitude, members of the school community will team up to honor some of the most supportive, caring and loving people in the school by hosting an appreciation breakfast on Monday, December 9.
- During the celebration, bags full of gifts are past out to the school’s most helpful staff.
Last year’s Support Staff Holiday Celebration was a tremendous success with scrumptious homemade food and plenty of surprises. Each of the school’s levels (Elementary, Middle School and High School) offered a different contribution to the staff. Elementary parents and students selected and delivered gifts to each of the children of the maintenance personnel. Middle School helped organize a maintenance wide raffle, in which each participant got a gift out of playing the game. Likewise, High School helped out by consolidating holiday gift baskets, filled with delicious treats and goods, to be delivered to each of the maintenance staff’s households.

Currently, the High School Community Service Program, the Colegio Interamericano National Honor Society Chapter, and Student Council (StuCo) Organization are working to make this year’s Support Staff Holiday Celebration even more of a success. For this reason, they are asking for monetary or food donations to make Holiday Gift Baskets that will be handed out during this year’s breakfast.

If you are interested in helping make this wonderful activity a reality, the school is accepting donations until November 27th. This contribution can be in one of two natures:
1. Monetary: each basket costs around Q80 per basket, so donations will be collected by StuCo representatives or are to be delivered to the jars that have been placed in each of the school level’s offices.
2. Items: A collection box has been placed in front of the High School Office where item donations can be delivered. These may include: beans, rice, olive oil, sugar, maseca, Incaparina, Marshmallows, dried fruit (for holiday punch drinks) or chocolate bars for hot coco.
Thank you in advance for any contributions that you can make and for helping brighten the holidays for one of Interamericano’s own.
