Cristina’s passion for animals motivated her to do a donation drive for two local animal shelters, Guate unida por los animales and Asociación Entiende mi Silencio. The response from the students was incredible. Children from the elementary school gathered around 3,000 pounds of pet food, along with dog bowls, leashes, and treats. ¨It was so exciting to see the kids happy about helping these shelters in need. The lessons they take from this experience will help them care for all living beings, especially animals in need,¨said Cristina de Montes.

The class that gathered the most items got a pizza party and a visit from the two shelters.
