Dear Parents and Students:
I am thrilled to be welcoming you to another year at Colegio Interamericano, the most beautiful, wonderful school in all of Guatemala – and of course, the one with the greatest, kindest, and most respectful students in the world.You will be returning to a school that has been under constant construction since classes were dismissed in June. We have:
- Added an entire floor to the existing elementary building
- Enlarged two classes at the high school and added a third.
- Put in an entire drainage system for the soccer field and track.
- Torn up the existing soccer field, leveled it, graded and leveled the track, and within a couple of weeks we will be putting down one of the best synthetic fields in Guatemala.
- Added three art and music classrooms to the art/music building that was only constructed last year.
- Started the renovation of the school library.
All of this construction is not totally completed, but we have reached a point where we can safely open school. All further construction will be continued at night and during the weekends.The Foundation and the School Board have authorized all of this with one purpose in mind; to make this great school even greater. For the last three years we have raised our enrollment, raised our academic standards, raised our community service involvement, and raised the bar on our Morals and Values Programs. It is a rapidly changing world and Colegio Interamericano has every intention of keeping your children on the “crest” of this “title wave”.As usual, my door is always open and I look forward to meeting and getting to know all the new parents, and of course renewing the acquaintances of those returning.
